Learning to advocate for yourself starts for most people at birth. Most people with intellectual and developmental disabilities have a different experience advocating for themselves. Some of this lack of learning stems from many factors beyond this blog. Stay tuned, as the Pick of Week section of the website will feature books about disability, including the history of disability.
